About me
Hi, I’m Ashleigh - the teacher behind Miss IB Maths.
When you join my tutoring programme, it’s me on the other side. No random tutors. No uncertainty about who your child will learn from - just one dedicated, qualified maths teacher who genuinely cares about their progress.
For the past eight years, I’ve been an IB examiner and IB mathematics teacher in top international schools across Europe, helping students with different backgrounds, confidence levels, learning styles, and needs.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me outdoors - hiking, skiing, paragliding, scuba diving, ski touring, or exploring somewhere new with my Australian Shepherd, Blue.

Why I Teach Maths
Many students feel anxious about maths or assume they’re “just not good at it.”
My mission is to change that.
I believe maths is a powerful subject - not because everyone needs trigonometry in their career, but because it helps students develop:
-
strong reasoning and problem-solving skills,
-
resilience when things feel challenging,
-
clear, flexible thinking, and
-
confidence in handling complex situations.
Even if your child doesn’t need maths for their future studies, learning it well gives them essential tools for life.

Why Students Struggle - And How I Fix It
Most students find maths difficult because their foundations were never fully secure.
It’s a bit like fitness: you can’t go to the gym once and expect results.
Maths works the same way.
If core number and algebra skills aren’t strong, advanced topics feel overwhelming.
That’s why I always begin with a diagnostic test. It shows me exactly where the gaps are and what your child needs. From there, I create a personalised learning plan built from years of real classroom experience - not just tutoring.

How I Teach
My approach is friendly, structured, and highly supportive.
I focus on:
-
clear explanations,
-
steady confidence-building,
-
targeted practice, and
-
celebrating progress along the way.
Because the truth is simple: one-off tutoring sessions don’t change grades - consistent practice does.
Maths is a skill, and skills grow through repetition, coaching, and time.
A tutoring subscription ensures your child gets the structure, routine, and reinforcement they need to make meaningful, lasting progress.
If your child needs a tutor who truly understands the IB, who sees them as an individual, and who is committed to making maths feel simpler and less intimidating, I’d love to support them.
